WELCOME

I am a Welsh composer whose music ranges from large-scale orchestral works to music for wind orchestra, brass band, chamber ensembles, voices and solo instruments. At the heart of it is a fascination with colour, atmosphere and the expressive possibilities of instrumental sound—often shaped by landscape, literature, memory and the cultural life of Wales.

My work has been performed and broadcast in Britain and internationally by ensembles including the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the National Youth Orchestra and National Youth Brass Band of Wales, the Thüringen Philharmonie, and the Orquesta Filarmónica de la UNAM. I have been fortunate to work closely with conductors and performers who have helped bring the music to life, including Christopher Adey, Alun Francis, Jac van Steen, and James Watson.

Alongside composing, I have spent much of my professional life working with other composers’ music—as a teacher, editor, copyist, orchestral librarian and publisher. Through Oriana Publications, I am particularly committed to preserving and promoting Welsh repertoire and making it available to new performers and audiences.
